Classic Banana Bread
Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups (220g) all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed (about 1 1/2 cups)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup (60g) chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
Mix melted butter, eggs, mashed bananas, and vanilla extract in another bowl.
Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients just until moistened. Fold in nuts if using.
Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan.
Bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan and cool completely on a wire rack.
